Platforms and Politics.
My major research agenda is focused on understanding how the technical features and user affordances of the various communication platforms have an impact on the content that political campaigns. This area of research looks at content across a wide-range of communication platforms and attempts to determine how their structures and users play a role in shaping content.

Systematic Biases in Information.
My work also looks at biases in information and the effect of those biases on political information we are exposed to and how we consume it. For instance, I have studied how engagement with news content on Facebook skews towards extreme right-wing pages and how background images affect processing of political cues.
-
Political Expression.
I also study how political identity is expressed through non-traditional areas of study. For instance, I look at how choice in political podcasts, clothing, and food reflect political ideology as well as how divergences in consumer behaviors, such as television viewing, are reflective of deepening cultural divides.
